I want to tell you something that took me a very long time to understand. The moments in my life when I felt the most lost were not moments of losing direction. They were moments of finally — finally — feeling how far I had drifted from myself. Not lost. Misplaced. Living somewhere I was never meant to be. And there is a profound difference between those two things.
The Mystery of Feeling Lost
There is a particular kind of pain that comes when you know — deep in your body, before your mind has caught up — that something is not right.
Not wrong in a dramatic way. Not wrong in a way you can easily explain to someone else over a coffee. Just wrong in the way that a shoe that does not quite fit is wrong. You can wear it. You can walk in it. You can even run in it for a while. But eventually — your body tells you the truth.
And the truth is — this was never made for me.
I spent years in that feeling. Years of pushing through. Years of achieving things that looked right from the outside while something inside me was quietly, persistently, undeniably saying — this is not your life Shanely. This is not who you are.
I did not listen. Not for a long time.
Because when you are that deep inside something that is not right for you — when the roles and the relationships and the routines have been in place for so long that they feel like walls rather than choices — getting out feels impossible. And sometimes the walls are not just inside you.
It Is Not Just About You
I want to say something here that I think is important and not said often enough.
Sometimes when we are at our lowest — when everything is falling apart around us — it is not only about us.
When my world was collapsing, it was not just my own misalignment I was living inside. It was the dynamics of the people around me. The relationships that were taking more than they were giving. The energy I was absorbing from people who were themselves lost, themselves in pain, themselves operating from their own conditioning and fear.
We all play a part. Every person in every dynamic brings something to it.
And I am not saying this to assign blame — to them or to myself. I am saying it because understanding this was one of the most liberating things that ever happened to me.
Because when I stopped asking “what is wrong with me?” and started asking “what is happening in this dynamic?” — everything shifted.
The people around you matter. The energy you are living inside matters. The relationships that feed you and the ones that drain you — they matter more than most of us are willing to admit.
You get to choose. Not all at once. Not easily. But you get to choose.
What The Triggers Are Really Telling You
Here is what I know about those moments when everything in you screams this is not right.
They are not breakdowns.
They are signposts.
Every time I felt that particular frustration — that deep, grinding, relentless feeling of pushing against something that would not move — it was not a sign that I was failing. It was a sign that I was living against my own design.
Human Design taught me to understand my frustration rather than fight it. As a Manifesting Generator my frustration is not a character flaw. It is a signal. It is my body’s way of saying — you are not responding to what is genuinely right for you. You are pushing. Stop pushing.
And my throat centre — undefined and defined in different parts of my chart — taught me something about my voice that changed everything.
For most of my life I had been trying to speak in ways that were not mine. Absorbing other people’s way of communicating. Taking on their words, their rhythms, their ways of expressing. And in doing so I had quietly lost my own voice.
Learning to find it again — to speak from my own authority rather than from what I thought people needed to hear — is still a work in progress.
Life is a work in progress.
That is not a failure. That is the point.
The Keys That Unlock Understanding
During my studies of Human Design certification I kept coming back to this idea — that every subject has its keys. The foundational pieces of understanding that, once you have them, allow you to expand everything else from them.
Human Design has its keys too.
Your type — how you are designed to interact with the world.
Your authority — how your body makes decisions before your mind catches up.
Your strategy — the specific way you are designed to engage with life so that things flow rather than force.
These are not just concepts. They are tools. Real, practical tools that you can use in the middle of an ordinary Tuesday when something does not feel right and you cannot work out why.
They are the tools that help you pause — even for a moment — and ask:
Is this frustration a signal? Is this heaviness telling me something? Is this the feeling of being somewhere I was never meant to be?
And then — crucially — they help you take the next step. Not the whole journey. Just the next step in the right direction.
Because that is all any of us can do.
That Gratitude That Comes After
I want to talk about gratitude for a moment. Not the gratitude that comes from counting your blessings. The deeper kind.
The gratitude that comes from recognising what was not right for you — and having finally moved away from it.
This is one of the most underrated experiences in a woman’s life. The moment you look back at the version of yourself who was still inside something that was hurting her — and feel grateful. Not because it happened. But because you finally saw it clearly enough to change direction.
I am grateful for my lowest points now. Not because they were good. They were not. Some of them were genuinely devastating.
I am grateful because they were honest. They told me the truth when I was not ready to hear it any other way. They brought me to the place where I finally stopped pretending and started paying attention.
And paying attention — really listening to what your body is telling you, really trusting what does not feel right even when you cannot explain it — that is where everything begins.
That is where I began.
That is where you can begin too.
A Note Before You Go
If something in this letter has triggered something in you — a recognition, a discomfort, a quiet knowing — I want you to sit with that for a moment.
Not to fix it. Not to analyse it. Just to notice it.
Because that noticing — that moment of hang on, this is not right — is the beginning of everything.
It is the moment your inner authority starts to speak.
And it is worth listening to.
If you are ready to understand your own triggers, your own frustration, your own design — I am here. A Human Design Blueprint Session is where we begin to put language to what your body has been trying to tell you.

With so much love,
Shanely xo
P.S. If this letter resonated — share it with a woman you know who is in the middle of her own difficult season. Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do for someone we love is show them they are not alone.
